Over the course of three days, from September 4th to September 6th, five UNB Law students had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the RCMP's Restorative Training certification process through Ms. Rose-Marie Stewart. Ms. Rose-Marie Stewart was recently granted the highest level of certification and became a Level 1 Facilitator and Teacher. Since restorative justice programs first became introduced to the Canadian justice system, Ms. Stewart has been working as a restorative justice facilitator with great success. Today, among her many other community roles and responsibilities, she works tirelessly alongside the wonderful John Howard Society of Fredericton to spread her wisdom and restore justice across New Brunswick. We thank her for her wisdom and support.
We would also like to thank the TakingItGlobal, Government of Canada, and Canada Service Corps for selecting our group and project for sponsorship. Without the RisingYouth sponsorship, our training would have been impossible.
We are not preparing for the next steps in our adventure, which will be contacting Public Health for our Security Clearances. In the meantime, we are still able and willing to facilitate restorative justice circles for community organizations. Our booking system has been updated with our facilitator hours.
